XINQIAO SAPPORO BAKERY

Notes: You must try some of Beijing's bakeries. Here's an inexpensive one about a block and a half away from the Capital Hotel in the Dongcheng District next to Chongwenmen subway station exit. For about $0.20 or so, you can fill up on some of the delicious goodies here. You can get anything from hotdogs to pastries. But, get here early enough before the goods are sold away.

GUDUMAMI RESTAURANT

Notes: This traditional looking restaurant is quite large inside and only locals are found here. It's located just at the behind the Capital Hotel and is quite popular.
