LANDMINES MUSEUM
Area: A few kilometers from Angkor Wat in the Angkor temple compound
Overview: Located near the Angkor Conservation area and founded in 1997 by Mr. Aki Ra, a former child soldier with the Khmer Rouge and demining (of landmines in Cambodia) activist, the Landmine Museum houses mines and other explosive devices left over from the Vietnam War that Mr. Aki Ra has personally found and decommissioned. In addition, amputee victims are housed in the museum, serving as tour guides. The museum functions as an educational facility and a strong voice.
