MONEY MATTER
Currency: The Chinese Yuan, Chinese RMB
Notes: Again, a cash machine is king! China Construction Bank has more presence in Shanghai than in Beijing.
Money, Cash Machines, ATMs: China Construction Banks, HSBC branches are all over Shanghai. Several China Construction branches can be on Jinling Lu east and central, on Guangdong Road, by the Bund (near Number Five club and Hugo Boss) as well as Nanjing Lu.
Tipping: No tipping required
Convenience Stores
It seems every Asian country has mom and pop convenience stores and large chain convenience stores about 50 feet apart. Shanghai is no different.
All Days appears to be the main convenience stores in Shanghai (no 7 Elevens!). All over. Some are handicap accessible and some aren't. The pic I took of one is wheelchair accessible. Some have a step at the entrance.
Shop at the more modest convenience stores if you want to save some money - the ones that pop out of a garage gate. They're usually on the side streets.
